Just thinking out loud, but the the work/reward payoff for social media is not there any longer. I've seen some Calif streamers that had to get regular jobs again because facebook changed an ad revenue policy. It instantly sunk their business model. Now on the other hand you have a successful roofing company that is starting to fire on on cylinders after grinding for years. This is where the work/reward payoff is most. I've seen some business owners that trusted new managers too much-too soon (a lot of in the landscaping industry) ...only to have those managers run their biz into the ground. Still do some vids and lives as time allows, but don't burn yourself out. That's my 2 dollars (inflation lol)

We've been using "Roof Snap' , which uses the exact same software, for the past few years. It's excellent. My son wrote an excel program that it populates and calculates waste for pricing all related labor and material as well as populating installer packets and orders to suppliers. It's been an enormous amount of time saved, (crazy neon lights)

I’ve never liked Tamkos. In fact I’ve only ever installed them once. I prefer atlas pristine pinnacle. I don’t mind the GAF hdz either but I’d rather install atlas

From my understanding the main issue with copper which also often used in treated lumber is it's bad for aquatic life.

I will say having just watched this most your other live streams have a chat replay (edit nvm it's back). There is no chat replay. Although watching after the fact so don't know if you did not have it enabled or did something. Although it seems like you have some people talking listening and asking questions such as when you responded about the rubber/plastic slate synthetic.

Former Roofer. I mean seeing a poor install isn't an uncommon site unfortunately. Lot's of "I roofed with my uncle a few times" kind of guys out there. But I'm just baffled as to why you wouldn't finish this to avoid more scrutiny? Like he was basically done, one guy could have finished that in half a day, and then you would have at least had a "completed" roof, instead of a glaring issue.

You can pay more but unless the homeowner is supervising the install, they will never know what is going on up there.

Does gutter placement play a part with this leak?

You can also use prybar on top of nail then hammer on pry areas. If you run into one or two nails more than likely there will be more.

I watched this video because my grandfather’s last name is Arduino. I watched once and couldn't process the info as fast as you were sharing it, so I played it at .75 speed. It it pretty impressive that at 3/4 speed you sound like a totally normal human! That helped, but every new-to-me concept that you mentioned led me down a new rabbit hole of learning mathematical calculations, scientific laws, and engineering concepts. I didn't fully grasp how they all worked together and got pretty overwhelmed. So, I tried playing it at .5 speed but then your voice sounded like my grandpa after his stroke, which landed me in therapy to finally deal with those demons that haunted me. In one particularly haunting sessions, I realized that your video made me feel dumb. F that! I was determined to build my own bigger and worse sorter!!! So, I enrolled in that SNHU online college engineering program. They said it was a 4 year course, but I've got other responsibilities so I took the 5 year track. 7 years later, witth my BS in mechanical engineering in hand, I secured the parts needed and constructed my own sorter! The moment had finally arrived! I went to gather my pennies... AND THEY WERE GONE!!! I tore through the house with all the BDE of Will Smith looking for Chris Rock when my family took no time to implicate my now 21-year-old son who, 6 1/2 years ago had sorted the pennies by date, rolled them, banked them, and used them to buy one of those Ancestry DNA test. Well, it looks like Grandma was a busy hippie and never told Grampa Arduino “You are NOT the father.” … so I am back in therapy and have too much student loan debt to afford that new roof I came on your page to look into.

Nice job! You don't have to be a professional, you just have to use common sense and a little bit of aerodynamics . And yes it does apply to water! My deceased husband was a roofer in those times where only big companies had the equipment like nailers. He also used to carry the shingles up on the roof too. They weigh about 80 lbs. My husband's work can still be seen after 45 years. He did a resteraunt with Spanish tiles and they are still on the building! He did many roofs on Seabrook and Kiawah island. Even an executive of Coca Cola. I've repaired my own house and I have to say a good roofer is worth every penny. It is the MOST IMPORTANT part of a home. In my opinion metal roofs are the way to go. It's unfortunate that HOAs don't allow them. Not saying shingles aren't good it just depends on how much you you pay.. btw id like to know if you have a small cut on your vent boot at the top of the rubber that slides over the pipe, is flex tape an easy and somewhat permanent fix? I see where you can buy a rubber gasket to put over one but I just know I won't be able to find the right size one ,if at all, knowing my luck! Or should I just caulk it up with rubberized caulking? The flex tape says it seals out water so, any ideas? Who knew one little v cut could cause it to leak!

My first husband deceased was a roofer and if he saw this he would be turning in his grave! While I can attest that he was one of the best ,these days no one seem to care about their work whether it's a roof or a wall. You can find mistakes on any roof but whoever did this roof just didn't care. It is one of the worst I've seen. I don't know if he didn't know what he was doing or whether his equipment was faulty but he needs to be sued. Personally it's better to put a metal roof on and if you own a home that you don't live near sell it. If you can't keep an eye on your property or don't have someone that will take care of it as you would, it's not worth it. This is who people like that guy take advantage of. I feel very bad for them. I appreciate this video and it is too bad people are greedy and shady. No matter what you do in life or in business we must try to do our best. It is then when people will appreciate your efforts.

The guys putting up videos saying that they are fast while using an airgun are a joke. I've won many nailing competition at Roofers Conventions nailing shingles by hand. You would never get away with the shit you see online at an official contest where you have to nail the shingles according to manufactures specifications. The area covered is 1 square with a huge crowd cheering and taking pictures while you're nailing perfectly by hand in front of roofers, contractors, manufactures and convention attendees.

I charge prices like this but I remove and replace the entire boot and end up with a miscellaneous opened bundle of shingles because you only need a few.
